We Love Our Earth

(which is this Thursday April 22)
and help out our environment a little!
We will be decorating reusable totes! These will be great to use at the grocery store, the library, and countless other situations!
We will also be collecting plastic grocery sacks that we will take to a local grocery store to be recycled. Please ask your neighbors, family, friends, teachers and anyone else you can think of for their grocery sacks (that they don't want or need). If you are unable to make it you can still collect grocery sacks in your neighborhood and drop them off at our house to be recycled. We want to see how many bags we can collect!
So get collecting bags and lets see how much we can help our Earth!
Please meet at Roni Miller's house at 10:30 am on Saturday May 1st.
Please bring a tote to decorate! You can find blank totes at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and other craft stores.
You are welcome to bring multiple totes to decorate if you'd like!
We will have paints, stencils, and other decorating supplies for the totes!
Also. . . don't forget to bring those plastic grocery bags!

If possible please let me know if you CAN or CANNOT make it--thanks! Also if you have any valentine making supplies please bring them!

Tender Tots needs some feedback!
- What day of the week works best for you to meet for Tender Tots?
- Would you like your school age kids to be able to be involved?
- If so, would you prefer a Saturday activity or an after school activity?
- What times work best for you? Mornings, afternoon, evenings? Specific times?
- Do you have any ideas for service projects that you would like your children to be involved in?
- Do you have any ideas for recruiting new members to Tender Tots?
Thanks for all of your help and input! I look forward to serving with you and with your children. To answer questions feel free to comment on this blog post or to email me at roniandcoleman@gmail.com.
Thanks again!

Showing LOVE this February!
This month we wanted to focus on service that we can do that is not just collecting money or supplies for a cause. Though these are important and helpful, we wanted the kids to know that you can do service for others by showing love and kindness, not just by money!
If you have any card making or valentine making supplies, please bring them with you! (Such as paper, glue, glitter, stickers, scissors, etc!)
We hope to see you a week from today!

Helping Haiti this January
This month for Tender Tots we will be collecting some of the supplies that are needed for these kits. We will meet at my house on Thursday January 28th at 10:30 am to allow the children to sort through and organize the items, so that they may see they help that they are offering. We will also briefly talk about what they are doing, why, and who the items will be helping. We will then carpool to the church where the items are being collected (which is only 2 blocks from my house). If you are unable to meet with us on the 28th please drop off the items that you have collected at my house. Also if you are unable to collect anyitems, you can donate money on the LDS Humanitarian Services site, or to Tender Tots, and we will purchase additional supplies.
Here is the list of items we are collecting:
- unbreakable combs (no sharp points)
- toothbrushes (in package)
- toothpaste 6-8 oz tubes (no pumps)
- soap 4-5 oz (packaged)
- Baby items
- double receiving blankets
- flat fold cloth diapers (not pre-folded or disposable)
- safety pins
- booties
- socks
- layette gowns (no footed sleepers)
- ivory soap
Here are some links on the Church's Humanitarian Center and their efforts in Haiti. I love donating to the Church's programs because we know that 100 % of what we donate goes to help. The Church is staffed with volunteers not salaried personnel.
